One not a result of drugs, fatigue or illness. Something that made you go "Hmmm..." or question everything you thought you knew about the world.
Cliff-jumpers welcome.

The first time I walked on the moon and looked back to see earth I realized the fragility of our home and how all of us are connected. I was changed for ever and have now become a fundamentalist christian.

Didn't you make this thread back when you were Swami? I saw it in the "Similar Threads" list recently...

a) jumping off cliffs into water has been huge for me. 65 ft. highest i've ever done. huge psychological implications to jumping off of cliffs. very beneficial.
b) dunno if this counts it was like 4 days after an acid trip i felt a huge electric surge above and in between my eyes, did a little deep breathing and fell into a state of total peace and bliss which persisted for like 24 hours in varying degrees
c) i was sotally tober for this one, was lifeguarding and reading American Primative which is a book of poetry by mary oliver (it's a classic) very spiritual i was thinking about the astral plane and some generally far out shit when i decided to focus on my being, my sense of "I AM" (have i ever told you about "i am"?) and all of a sudden i was in this state where i felt as if I was god, as if i sustained the universe, i looked over at the kids playing in the pool and my sense of i am extended to them, i was them and they were me. I kept going deeper into it all day. Towards the end of the day i started experiencing the deepest joy i can imagine, and seemed to be informed by the universe that everything would always be okay forever and ever. Changed my life.
d) hooked up with this girl i've been more or less in love with for like 5 years, felt the beautiful ZAP of a heart connection. only to have my fucking balls broken like a month later but hey, i brought it on myself and that 'tis the birds and bees <---never would have happened without realizing the self, i had to do so much soul searching to bring that about
sorry for taking this thread so seriously, i have a heavy heart

Used to think I was immortal when I was younger.
One night I was staggering home from a bar, pressed the cross button at a crossing and the wait light came on. I looked both ways, decided to cross against the light as no car was coming. Halfway across the light turned green, and as I got to the other side I heard a car slam on its brakes. The car was travelling so fast that it spun end over end right through the space I had just crossed, and where I would have been had I waited for the green light like an obedient little worker drone.
I interpret it as the Universe telling me to follow my gut and not obey the dictates of the masses.
Hope some of that was relevant.

Up until I was 27. I mean, if you asked me before then whether I was going to die I would have answered 'yes', and I knew that I was going to die, but I didn't fully believe it.

To be honest I'd never done any drugs bar a little bit of alcohol up until this happened. Then I realised that death could strike at any instant and so I hit the psychoactives without trepidation or respite.
