Brown / Yellow Contamination with Cobwebby Surface (PICS)

So Ive tried to find anyone with a similar problem on the boards, with no luck. So heres my problem. I have about 7 jars that I knocked up on 5/3/11 that started out looking really healthy, the mycelium really took to it well and colonized like a monster. However, it did not colonize certain parts, and those parts are a yellow / brown color with a cobwebby surface, and totally dry.

Also the mycelium actually jumped out of the substrate and its almost like its trying to push out of the jar to find more food. What i'm wondering is if this is contamination, or the jar running out of nutrients. Thanks in advance guys.

Next time add more moisture to your jar, it is dry and stressed.

Thanks so much solum, i've been kind of freaking out about this. Should I dunk and case these then? I really don't want to risk contamination in future grows if it is in fact contamination. But I don't want to waste them if it is just dry substrate. Is this a normal reaction for when cakes dry out? Feedback is much appreciated!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3
