I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

Often. Sometimes. Not something I would rely on.
Quite a few umbonate caps there: http://www.rogersmushrooms.com/gallery/DisplayBlock~bid~6681.asp

They look like Psathyrellas of some sort. In fact, P. candolleana looks like a reasonable match. The ones I find almost always have a broad umbo, and the caps typically darken with age.

The biggest difference I see between the specimens here and what I usually see for P. candolleana is that these specimens seem a bit heftier than usual. On the other hand, I live in a fairly dry area, and a wetter area could easily produce specimens that are thicker and more solid looking.

Happy mushrooming!
