i found a pretty good patch of Marasmius oreades and took some pictures that i think could help people to ID or find this mushroom. i think the pics show just about every detail. so here they are.
this one shows where they grow and the different shapes / colours the caps can be.
caps and stem and gills

better shot / different angle on the gills and stem

I fed a Canada Goose

Yellow

a bit more info about Marasmius oreades: they grow in grass. sometimes in rings called "Fairy RIngs" and thats how they got they got the nickname the fairy ring mushroom. but they arent the only mushrooms that do this. they usually got a bump in the middle of the cap. and they have a white spore print. they store very well and rehydrate well if you place them in water.
hope this helps somebody out there. and hope you all enjoi the pics.

Love the goose!
when I asked for an ID on some of those mushrooms, one of the TIs said you can tie the stem in a knot. Marasmius oreades has a much more fibrous stem than any other similar mushroom.
-------------------- You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

Don't eat the stems. Just pull the caps off and eat those. I like them, they're quite sweet.
