May 2011 Picture of the Month Nominations
    #14416634 - 05/07/11 11:22 PM (2 years, 14 days ago)

After a not so brief hiatus the Ethnobotanical Gardens Picture of the Month(POTM) is back.

The way it works is we(you, me, anyone) nominate the best botanically related pictures that are posted during the month of May and then we form a poll and vote on these during the month of June.

Four contest rules:
1. Original botanical-related pics only.
2. Posted during May only
3. No Self-nominations allowed
4. No humans are to be in the shot

Here's a link to a previous months nominations thread if you're confused>>link

Please include a thumbnail linking to a bigger picture, a description of the picture, the name of the pic's owner, and a link to the thread it's from.

Just to clarify, the pics must have been previously posted in a thread, or can be posted here just for the contest?
Thanks.

You can't nominate your own pics (unless that has changed) and the pic must have been posted during the month in question.

Lets all hope when it comes to EBPOTY we get a pic chosen purely for its ethno botancal or its photogenic properties instead of just cos here is semi naked chick in shot

Should we just vote this the winner now cos all us ethnobotany fans will just be outvoted again by the undersexed male poster vote army that wades through the forum land of the tinternet

Agreed there, let's add a further clause then, no people in the shots, to keep it focused on the plants?

What? That grass is really hot! Look at how it mats down so seductively…mmmmmm

--------------------
I challenge you to challenge yourself more! When you feel complacent and ready to hang it up, challenge yourself to get over it! If you fail, don't look at it as you didn't succeed, look at it as you would a rock face you're trying to climb. Stand back, wayyyy back, and look at it and plot another path. If you can't find one, shuffle down the way a little, a little change of scenery or a view from a different angle may give you the insight you need.

Anything I state is relayed information from a friend of a friend and should be viewed as completely fictitious. I do not partake in any illegal or grey-area-of-the-law activities, but do have lots of friends who may or may not.    -fngbronco

Yes, the no self nominations does still apply. I will add the rules to my original post as I forgot that little tid-bit. I will also stipulate that no humans are to be in the shots.

Nice one, psyke101.

@karode I had noticed you'd been missing for a bit.  You'll need to catch up on your "Melbourne/Vic inactives and edibles"  quota.  :tongue2:  I was nearly going to set up a voting pole, decided against it as I don't post much in Ethno' so it felt a bit odd taking over your thread.
