Hello all! got a ? hopefully someone could help me with. I have this greyish fuzz on my sub after i pasteurized 3-4 days ago i've never seen this before with my methods. it's barely noticable to the eye. It doesn't spread very fast i mixed the bags up last night, no sign of it today. But since i made 18- 32 quart bags i don't want to mix with my beautiful spawn if it's turned. Here's my method: H-poo Coir earthworm castings lime gypsum half of them got a bag of old sub mixed in. looked and smelled fine, the other bags that didn't have the old sub have the fuzz too. so i don't think it was from that. I mixed dry ingredients in garage cause of the dust. hydrated in cleaned bathroom with very warm tap water out of brand new shower wand. 32 q. in each bag, impulsed sealed, into my homemade steam pasteurizer(wagner wallpaper steamer conected to a 45 gallon tote with a rack). Well i was an ASSHOLE on this part. I've moved across the state so i do not have everyone of my toys with me. So no remote thermometer:( so Being the asshole that i am, thought i'd just run it for the average time. no temp check. about 3 1/2 steamers full, half one to warm up the chamber. so about 3 1/2 to 4 hours total time in there. also this was run in the garage that was about 40 degrees so i thought that would help even out the temps. I have enough to start over but really would rather not, my back is killing me. could i just re-pasteurize?
do the Beneficials left after pasturizing cause a bloom like this?
thank you in advance for any guidance in this manner!
Phunky Also pics won't help the bag reflects too much to show it.

often times the beneficials do look like that. Without a picture I couldn't begin to evaluate. search for pics of actinomyces, firefang, ect. beneficial microbes and compare

Thanks mate. Yeah pictures would be imposible to tell anything. with the glare off the bag and the moisture on the inside. i thought i was seeing things:) but eventually got an angle. If i didn't have somewhat of idea on my mix i def would have missed it. thanks for the tips for the search, on that right now. ok..... i'm a little scarred now, images of actinomyces turned up people's bums being eaten away, yikes. ok looked it up, not all that many images but what i saw may be firefang i'll mix up a tub and see if it works. what are your thoughts on re-pasteurizing?

it would be a whole hella lot easier to see with out the moisture on the inside of the bag. how could cobweb infect my bags? they're sealed, cause that's my other worry. but the mushroom cultivator said, as i've read here(my copy is in storage, booo) that it's killed at about 120 degrees or so, I hit much higher temps. and just checked a couple and it's back not any worse just a little showing. while compressed the sub has cracks where it cakes together when you move it. here is where i'm seeing it. i smoosh it up no signs on the inside. looking at pictures of cobweb, it looks ALOT different, besides the color, looks exactly like peach fuzz. this is growing in the sub, even only a little, while the cobweb looks as though likes to billow, this does not. anyway thanks again for the words of advice.
