ok then is it any different installing a small 40mm fan to turn on every hour instead of me fanning? and how about small water dropplets coming into FC from a tube instead of me misting in there from a nozzle? they are both on timer, so i can adjust, why does it have to oversaturate substrate of it's on timer? given minutes can be reduced to just a few if necessary.... just don't get this

Listen to the experienced ones if you want a risk free grow. If you are really attached to the humidifier idea, here is a couple of other things I found:
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/8611983#8611983 http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/739360#739360
In the end, it's your experience man, do whatever and learn the lesson. No one here can teach you their first hand experience, you got to do it on your own. Great advices though, I would listen
Love and Peace! Good luck!
Also, quick note: with the mister, you may flood it or soak it and cause rotting/aborts. With the fan, you may dry it and have some funky looking mushrooms that aren't near potential grow. Many risks with automated systems but if you get it down then it will be very beneficial for you since you are not home.

thanks. i respect your input, and i'll consider making more holes but i'm still diggin to seek automated solutions involving humidifier, if i fail then should at least know exactly why it cannot work...

You can do a semi-automated system. Make the MSG like suggested, you can hook the humidifier up to it, but only if you can get it to run in very short bursts, I'm talking like 5 minutes on then off for a few hours. That way you can have your humidity and evaporation while still getting decent FAE. Set it to activate every three or so hours, and have a fan blowing indirectly to assimilate some fresh air circulation. Something semi automated like that will allow you to neglect it for an indefinite period of time.

yes i grew in a jar, in a covered plate, now i'm doing plastic FC, at first i was misting and fanning, it was success harvested few oz, works great no doubt but now that i'm away it's not so easy, mushrooms hardly pin, and don't grow unless i open and fan, i have few holes on the bottom and sides of the box but they are 1/16 inch in size probably not big enough for FAE but the Ultrasonic Humidifier is on timer pumping fine mist for 10mins every 60 minutes, and i did notice that the air inside is stale when i smell it so i still fan when i come home after work, and soon i'm about to install a fan on the side of the tub, hope it will solve the supposedly "evaporation" problem and trigger some sweet ass pins and help shroomies to grow, if not then will someone please shoot me

I would personally get holes on all sides if you can unless it's the container is not just intended for growing in and leave a fan indirectly at it for 10 minutes every 2 hours. It's all trial and error though I have found. Fun stuff. Post a tek when it works.
And if the holes are that small, instead every 2 inches drill holes every 1 inch or even less. 1/16th is really small.
How long are you away for each time?

Are you growing an isolate / clone? Or growing from multispore?
If from multispore, don't expect even pinning.

Because multi-spore is like a box of chocolates.
