Magic Mushroom farm raided in North Okanagan
While RCMP are used to busting drug growing operations, the kind they discovered in Armstrong Sunday was a surprise.
RCMP searched an outbuilding on a property in the 4500 block of Hallam Road on Sunday.
Inside they found row upon row of psilocybin mushrooms, otherwise known as 'magic mushrooms,' which have a hallucinogenic affect when consumed.
RCMP seized about 15 kilograms of dried and potted mushrooms.
A 71-year-old male resident was detained for question, but not charged.
Vernon/North Okanagan police continue to investigate.

Senior busted with magic mushrooms
A North Okanagan senior was busted with 15 kilograms of magic mushrooms on Monday.
"On April 3, officers from the Vernon/ North Okanagan RCMP detachment conducted a search of an outbuilding on a residential property located in the 4500 block of Hallam Road in Armstrong," says RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
" What they found was a different kind of grow operation. They discovered an active psilocybin mushroom growing operation instead of the marijuana type operation they normally see," says Molendyk.
A search resulted in the seizure of approximately 15 kilograms of mushrooms.
"A quantity of the mushrooms were being dried and a large quantity of others were still growing."
Molendyk says the 71-year-old male resident of the property was detained while the officers conducted the investigation.
No charges have been laid yet and the file is still actively being investigated.

ok ok guys who is going to own up to this one very nice but i wonder how much of them where wet or dry since it could have been much less if the bulk of them were wet

i've heard enough, if that was america that 71 year old man would be anally violated by now and possably beaten. canada... " oh, we'll be back sometime next week, the hockey finales are coming up and wella me and drake here have tickets." "your mushrooms will make us for an interesting game, so we'll give you time to flee. ehh, If you still here and have coffee we may right you a ticket." (cops high fiving each other on the way out after scoring some serious shroomage for the game)

when i read that, i picture this. and it makes me think the news reporters are idiots.
edit: i wonder if they found any mushrooms seeds!  shit i crack myself up.

There was one time when the police entered my residence without a search warrant for reasons I wont mention, did not hear a word about them.
A week later I seen a undercover cruiser and a cruiser pull up in front of me when I was leaving to throw out the crop  the cruiser halted and I thought I was going to get pinched but instead dude looked at me, scowled and drove off.
True story from Canada.
