so i had to go away for a week right as my sub started pinning. i threw it in a shotgun FC with an fish air pump running 24/7 for as much FAE as possible. when i came back a week later i had a decent looking flush, the fruits were huge, spores had fallen everywhere making everything black.
the thing is i got this one really wierd lookin mushroom thing
anyone know what the fuck is up with this? i can post better pics in a lil bit when my camera battery charges

yea it looks like some crazy mutant where the cap formed inside out or some shit buts it's hard to tell because of all the spores making everything black and nasty looking. i'll post better pics in a little while when i get my pics loaded up.
does anyone know if there would be anything wrong with eating something like that? could this be the result of contamination or something that could cause harm?

there is nothing wrong with eating mutants.. does it stink? did the other mushies around it mature to the point to where their caps opened and dropped spores? its a strange mutant, but the top of it does look kinda naughty.. is it stained, or does it look like something nasty is growing on it?

yea that black thing is the cap. no the air pump was outside the FC, it had a line running in through one of the exhaust holes, i may have been near the end of the tube letting out the air but all the other mushrooms that grew around that one look just like the ones from the rest of the tray, they all look normal except they should have been picked earlier.

yes all the mushrooms were very mature, i hadn't been around to pick them when i would have wanted to so the caps opened to all the way. most opened way past the point where the veil breaks, a lot of caps on the bigger ones were starting to turn up and spores were released everywhere, even the pearlite looks black from the spores. the top does look wicked it's definately stained but it just looks so fucking weird idk, i kinda opened a little piece of it and the indside looked like the outside of a cap. as far as the smell it just smells like a mushroom, and it doesn't look like anythings growing on it. the stem does have a little yellow staining on it, i dont know what that means.
(sorry about and gramatical errors. i just got back from flying so im fucked up on a lot of xanax and trying to type, smoke blunts, and watch tv at the same time)

here in this pic you can see the "cap" fairly well
this one shows the staining that doesn't look too good.

ok from what i can tell the black top is just the underside of the cap, i guess since i took so long to pick them the cap curled all the way closed kinda like a clam shell. i still don't know thats up with that yellow staining though, any ideas? also how would you all say that substrate looks, i think its probably fine and just looks fucked up because of all the spores.

it's kinda hard to see in the pic but those gills visible in the second pic are the gills on the very outside of the underside of the cap (the part that usually curls up the most not the part nearest the stem.
any idea what could have caused this mutant?
