Well, I don't know if I should be posting this, but why the hell not. I got a mass email saying that a large amount of mimosa was seized by customs, and the company is going to court over it! This may be the first step for Mr. Bigshot government to take a stand against the psychedelic world.
Hi everyone, we urge you to read this email in its entirety. The authorities have
declared war on this industry, and we need your help.
This email is being sent out to over 1000 email addresses. All of you are previous
customers, a lot of you are regulars. In case you haven't found out, there have been
a spate of raids, arrests and seizures of Mimosa hostilis (or tenuiflora) bark since
last September. One by one we've seen our rivals go down the pan, as we were lucky
enough not to be raided and arrested ourselves. But now we find ourselves in a
situation where we are locked in no less than three disputes with the customs
seizure unit concerning 9 of our boxes, weighing an average of 12kg each. Mimosa was
our staple income, so they've got us by the short and curleys.
But we have evidence (in this time frame) of customs not playing by the rules
themselves. They released a box to me after inspecting it, and seized the next
eight! I also received evidence today from someone who was charged some sort of
import tax, and the label has Mimosa tenuiflora written on it! I shall be taking
evidence to court with me soon. But we need your help too....
Be a witness to photographic evidence:
The box customs opened and released to us can be witnessed on our old site -
www.mimosahostilis.co.uk - which is now a protest/campaign site. As you scroll down
you'll see a thumbnail photo of a cardboard box. Click on that and see in full size
the box with a tracking number and an 'opened by customs' sticker. Back on the main
page there is a text link to a .doc file you can use to confirm that you are a
witness by adding a name and an email address (and a signature if you want) to a
witness statement. I want to intimidate a magistrate with an overwhelming amount of
stuff he can't argue against.
If this is the end of Mimosa, what now?
At the moment the only thing we are doing concerning mimosa is trying to get enough
in just to fill the backlog we couldn't fill because of the seizures. One way we
have been lucky so far is that we haven't had anything else seized apart from
mimosa. We're convinced the authorities are arbitrarily obsessed with mimosa, like
it's their 'flavour of the month' or something. Their other flavour of the month
seems to be cactus, but they keep losing in court as the judges keep throwing case
after case out as an 'abuse of process' (see the Case History section on
www.mimosahostilis.co.uk). There is a mimosa test case underway, and we think they
don't have a leg to stand on.
What are we doing now? We could start by offering you a 20% off code for a new
product...
We've taken a gamble, and invested in some Acacia confusa bark stem bark. Those of
you who consider our professional opinion to hold weight, we consider Acacia confusa
to be the future. In tests done on our behalf, it was agreed this was on par with
mimosa root bark. It comes from a shaman who harvests and blesses it himself, and we
are wondering how it has eluded us for so long! One theory I have as to why it
didn't take off yet is because the information available is limited, and we found it
to be inaccurate - especially concerning the stem bark. But we're sure that once
it's known about, it will be at the very least as popular as mimosa. We would also
like to be in a position to buy root bark which is even better, but it takes 4 weeks
longer to arrive because it is harvested on request and pre-payment only, and is a
bit more expensive.

Incidentally if anyone wants any larger amounts of 2, 5 or 10kg, you are most
welcome to email us. If anyone is willing to wait up to 6 weeks to receive root bark
please contact us. If we get enough we'll put a root bark section on our site too.
We're also happy to do wholesale dropshipping deals if anyone is interested.
But if only less than half of the people we're contacting in this email put an order
in for just 50g, that could be the make or break as to whether we keep a roof over
our head, and ward off the bailiffs. We would be in a position to carry on the
business and claw our way out of this mess customs got us into. We're not asking for
much.
Incidentally, if you can't afford to buy anything, we're happy for you just to be a
witness to the evidence we post on the mimosahostlils.co.uk page. The more help we
get there, the more likely it is that we'll get the mimosa back. If that happens,
then we're laughing.
Fearing the worst
We've been fearing the worst lately. Our worst case scenario is that we risk being
taken to the cleaners and dumped on the street if things do not take a turn for the
best. If that happens we won't be able to afford to refund anyone, pay the banks or
anyone else. In my opinion authorities seem to have a spitefully nasty vendetta
against this industry, and they don't care if they make us destitute. I'm sure
they'd like to lock us up too.
Like I said at the start of this letter, they have declared war on us. We hope there
are enough of you who will stick by us. Don't let them wipe us out in such a corrupt
and underhand way. They are in the wrong not us, and this is just one of the many
acts of tyranny we're having to deal with in this hideous police state we find
ourselves in today. I find it sickening.

As far as I know, this is specific to the UK. Still, I've always thought it was a good idea to purchase at least five kilograms of bark to be secure for life once the hammer comes down. I really can't believe that mimosa hostilis is still freely sold in the US. It's got the power of fucking plutonium.

If they banned mimosa people would just find another source of natural DMT. 
There's so many that if they actually attempted to ban them all it would get to the point where human brains would have to be listed as controlled substances.
...and then we'd all be holding.

Nature may have DMT in various plants and life forms but so far, no one has found simple extractable DMT in anything other than MHRB. Sure, psychotria viridis, chaliponga, some Australian trees, various grasses and (supposedly) acacia confusia all contain DMT, but I haven't read (m)any successful reports of obtaining smokeable DMT from any of them. Hell, half the ayahuasca reports from psychotria viridis or chaliponga are duds.
If MHRB goes away, there is nothing right now (acacia confusia is the only contender) that can take its place.

I've read/heard plenty of reports of other easily-extractable DMT plants. Off the top of my head I can tell you that Desmanthus Illinoensis (Illinois bungle weed) and Phalaris Arundinacea (canary grass) are some pretty potent ones and are just about as easy to use/extract as any mimosa. I suspect that one could simply grow sprouts of these grasses and dry them out, making them even more appropriate for any extraction.
Also, contrary to what you said, I've read a lot of successful reports on Erowid regarding use of the Acacia plants... of which there are literally hundreds of varieties containing enough DMT for use.
