Hiking clothing is a dime a dozen at thrift stores. Nylon zip off pants and fleece anyways, maybe some jogging/athletic shirts.

jeeze i never realized they're so expensive
maybe i'll just buy a backpacking kit and do that instead
I just moved to nampa, was living in boise for a bit. Isnt the sky fucking gorgeous there? boise is at a high elevation I guess thats why the sky is so ridiculous. If you want to go on a day hike tyo get your bearings its as simple as entering the foothills.

Yep the foothills are great. But they are just that, babies. The real mountains lay just beyond the foothills. My friends and I are planning two backpacking trips this summer. One early, maybe to baron lakes northeast of Boise. and another later on, Augustish, to Frank Church or West Yellowstone. Planning is an ordeal with everyone's schedule...
Glad to see some shroomerites in my area

PS Hakim, Boise is at a relatively low elevation, appx 2,700 ft. And the stars are poorly visible here, as is the sky, due to the terrible air quality by any standards, thanks, in part, to the Nampaites.
