so I'm joining the Air Force, I was wondering if anyone on here is in the military too, also, my main question is were you able to have your family move with you during technical training? also in either case how long was tech training for you?

MMM, the Chair Force. All of my friends and relatives in the Army said in hindsight they would have joined the Air Force.
My Uncle served as a Captain in the Air Force in Germany, during and after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Be wary though. Air Force Special Forces (sounds fancy) are basically MP's. So don't get suckered into the fancy name.
Unless you are in the top .5%, you are just going to do bitch work for all the dudes that get to fly. Same as the Navy.

I got a 97 overall on my asvab, I plan on doing either pharmacy or some other medically oriented career like dental or something. but I don't pick my job until I'm AT BMT, kinda fucked up, but oh well right?

Why not just go to college and get your pharmaceutical or dental license instead of joining a government force that's primary purpose is to kill?

money is the big point, I don't have a lot. I can either work full time and survive, go to school full time and be riddled with debt after with possibly no job availability after I'm done, or join the Air force which is 1) a full time job that PAYS more than what I make right now, 2) a free education while I'm in and the GI Bill after, and 3) free food and housing for as long as I'm in. it's pretty enticing if you can swallow your ego enough to do it.

And all you have to do is sell your soul to Uncle Sam.

First of all, I don't believe in "souls" and it's actually more like uncle sam is contracting me to guard his plane, and in return he pays for my college, houses me, feeds me, takes care of my medical needs, and gives me lots of money every two weeks, and the air force is less corrupt than the majority of private employers. just sayin...

the military has a shit ton of benefits if you do it right. Sometimes i wish i would have thought about it more before i started school.
good luck, i personally feel everyone should perform some service for the country not saying it has to be military but something.
