Aliens, Future human beings?

Has anyone ever though about the idea that maybe aliens are humans who have advanced far enough to develop technology to become immortal and come back in time?
So I know that sounds fucking stupid but it seems more plausible to me than beings from some other star system.
If you think about it we are becoming closer and closer to surpassing our own biological potential. We have already extended the life span of the human race by double. It seems like it is simply a matter of time before we are able to grow organs and then it won't be long after that that we will be able to find out how to stop the decay in human bodies. Paired with that, the technological advances in information processing will only continue to grow. With the new wave of nano technology we soon will be able to truly harness the power of computing and solve virtually any problem.
Now I've heard many people who have encountered what they believe to be alien life forms describe something that was part mechanical and part flesh. These beings also did not seem to have any reproductive organs according to the victims.
If you think about how a super intelligent being would design a body for itself it seems very likely that this is what would result. At some point we may find a way to become virtually immortal and some day travel back in time to inspect ourselves in our beginnings.
Creepy thought for sure and I know I would never want to live here forever but it's a thought that has been lurking in my mind for some time now.
I am not saying this is what I believe but I think it is a pretty interesting idea.

If it's anothers idea then let me know who. Was definently not trying to take credit. as the first scentence in the post states "Has anyone ever though about the idea that maybe aliens are humans who have advanced far enough to develop technology to become immortal and come back in time?"

Which probably answers OP question of "has anybody ever thought of the idea..." yes others have thought about it...
edit: he beat me to it

in all honesty i think we are killing ourselves faster than we are extending our own lives... look at all of the byproducts in food nowadays... all of the drugs we use on a daily basis...
i see us going extinct before we extend life to immortality

The only thing that brought me to this though was the Singularty theory by Ray Kurzweil.
He puts it this way:
The Onset of the 21st Century will be an era in which the very nature of what it means to be human will be both enriched and challenged as our species breaks the shackles of its genetic legacy and achieves inconceivable heights of intelligence, material progress, and longevity. While the social and philosophical ramifications of these changes will be profound, and the threats they pose considerable, celebrated futurist Ray Kurzweil presents a view of the coming age that is both a dramatic culmination of centuries of technological ingenuity and a genuinely inspiring vision of our ultimate destiny.
I maybe should have mentioned his name in my post. Forgive me.

A good point but if you think about how fast the technology has grown in the last 10 years and if it continues to exponentially grow as fast as it did in the NEXT 10 years we will find ways to overcome these problems. Ya our food sucks right now and yea there are a shit load of toxins in our environment but if we learned to look at the world as a model and mathematically find ways to solve problems we may be able to over come these obstacles.
