Terence McKenna is my hero.

Thanks for posting these.
Does anybody else get the feeling that they will be teaching Terence in Universities (or the equivalent thing) a hundred year from now?
As much as I want this to happen I doubt it ever will. Psychedelics probably won't ever become 80+% socially acceptable in American society
LSD was legal in the US for a time, so was marijuana. Do you want psychs to be legal? Recognize your individual power in the situation. What WILL America be in 100 years. Will America be in 100 years? There are so many ifs and unknowns. To rule out that Terence won't be important and psychs wont be legal is trapped and brainwashed thinking, America's got you by the balls. All things change, and the ones who see opportunities direct the course of history while the sheep spew the current doctrine and hold us back. I want psychs to be legalized, I have no doubt one day they will.
Also, to respond to "Terence's ideas just being drug fueled rants" I'm not sure where your coming from. You sound uncomfortable with psychedelic use which is suprising to me because this is the shroomery. Terence wove a tighter, more intriguing story of human history than many philosophers have ever been capable of. The fact that he was inspired by shrooms doesn't discount a thing. The perspective you have of psychedelics is an American one, cultures far healthier than our own, based their world views off of psychedelic knowledge- that is fact- unlike Freud or Mckenna's ideas which are as you said just ideas (Personally I find Freud depressing and Mckenna uplifting and inspiring) Ultimately the ideas you have shape your world, so help yourself to what you want to believe and accept, just my 2 cents.
