Yeah, I love that movie. For me, it was the closest a movie has ever come to the feeling of tripping.

We've all seen it. That has to be one of the most recommended movies at the Shroomery. Good stuff. It was an early source of inspiration for me - I took alot from it. There's maybe two more films that have impacted me as much.

I have it on this laptop locked and loaded, but I'm waiting for the right time to click play. Maybe when I have some potent herb or a few hits of acid. I think it'll be better that way as opposed to sober me.

Practice. Eventually, you'll practice in a dream.
I once awoke from a dream, grabbed a television remote, and hit the power button.
The off TV remained off.
I was promptly launched through space into a blue sky, at which point I was so mentally exhilerated that I really sat up in bed.
I grabbed the tv remote, and the tv remained off.
I punched the button a couple more times, and it turned on.
Like in the movie, clocks are a pretty good indicator, too. Better, actually, because it won't make you click buttons and throw switches left and right.
It's not a trigger, so much as a sign.

And as one realizes... that one is a dream figure... in another person's dream, that is self-awareness.

Yea thats a good idea. Watching this movie baked was almost like being on acid so I couldnt imagine what it would be like to watch on acid.

script
Yea I read the script immediately after watching the film usually I dont care to even read scripts but this one was really special. There were parts in this film where I was very confused reading the script helped that out a lot.
there are some parts of the film though I still dont understand like the scientist talking about neo-humans and AI. Even after reading the script I still dont understand what he is trying to say or what the point is.
Also does anyone have a theory on where the main character is at? this is my conclusion. I think he just recently died remember the scene where he was hit by the car? I think that was showing him what happend to him yet he thought it was just a dream but it really happend probably not by getting dropped off by the guys in the boat maybe he was just walking home from school in his waking life and got hit by the car on that very street and intersection. perhaps he was in that state where the body is dead but the brain is still active remember they mention that about timothy leary in the film? and the dreams he is having is some sort of messages or knowledge. I kind of want to say that the messages and visions are from god or god is every person he interacts with in the dreams then at the end of the movie his soul finally releases from his body.

interesting concept there my friend.
If anyone is interested I found two movies that have visual effects similar to waking life. one is called 'Waltz with Bashir' the other is called 'persepolis' there both middle eastern movies and they both involve war interesting eh.
heres a preview of them both.

perhaps it helped you grow? I ended up having a few moments in the film where I was like "oh shit never thought of it like that" and was hit with some weird feeling kinda freaked me out.

I would generally agree with this. Most of the discussions the main character witnesses are pertaining to his situation in some form or another. It is these experiences that create a disposition within him to say "yes" to god (in reference to the very last story that he is told, which is actually the movie director doing the telling).
Awesome movie. When I realized it wasn't about dreaming, but was about dieing, my mind was blown.

I would partially disagree, but you could argue that to reflect upon death is to reflect upon life.
