Principal at Coral Park Elementary arrested on drug charges
January 14, 2011 - Sun-Sentinel
 The principal of Coral Park Elementary School in Coral Springs has been arrested on drug charges, police said Friday.
Amanda Miles, 60, was picked up this morning at her home on the 100 block of Northwest 93 Terrace after police searched the residence and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, said Coral Springs Police spokesman Lt. Joe McHugh.
Also arrested was Miles' son, Michael, 18, charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.
"Her arrest was off campus and had nothing to do with the school," McHugh said. "It did not involve students."
McHugh said police obtained a warrant late this week after an investigation. A search of Miles' home turned up 21 grams of marijuana that belonged to her, police said. An additional 126 grams of marijuana that belonged to her son was also found.
A call placed to Miles' home was not answered.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office website, Miles and her son are in custody at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale.
Her arrest report indicates Miles is the "sole occupant of the master bedroom." In that room, police found marijuana, a wooden pipe, two glass pipes (one purple, one black) and rolling paper.
Miles doesn't appear to have any prior criminal record. Neither does her son.

Why did they even search her house? how did they get evidence to get the warrnt.
this is extremely fucked she'll prolly loose her job, and her whole life is probably going to be ruined just because she smokes pot . I can't believe the people who make arrests like these can sleep at night. This is a foul country

Haha my friend who went to that school told me a few hours ago that the principal got arrested, and I catch this on the front page 
Coral Springs cops are the worst. They personally go out of their way to give people shit, and have a personal vendetta against weed users

pretty insane. The highschool i graduated from is the sister school of this elementary school. Like 2 blocks down from where i went to highschool.
Not too surprising to read this.
