Its 2011 and theyre out there!!  fellow Texans: post your finds HERE!!




it was around 37 last night and theres a high of 53 today.
i went to my favorite field today to get some edibles...
I've been finding cubes there since January 4th ish and i finally got a camera and took some pics. I also found lots of agaricus campestris!!!








most of the cubes i found had no spores.... so the gills bruised real good!






this was a giant mutant pin






OH and the agaricus!!





crappy pics from the last week.. but they looked SO cool

Is that a 5 gallon paint strainer bag I see the Agaricus in?
That's what I used last year. They make awesome collection bags.

Im heading out tomorrow....its been a cold night and day, but some were growing in my compost heap and im going to be heading to a ranch....Ill keep ya posted.  About time there is one for Texas!!!  Nice find!

Nice finds!  Not sure what would describe as "mutant" about the "large pin".  What type of weather systems have been operating during and around the time and area you have found the fungi specimens?  :dancingshroom: :redpanda:

It was raining pretty rough for a bit, and then suddenly it got colder than witches' tits. For me anyways.

It's what, 48f high and low of 30f? Had to put out blankets last night to protect the greenery outside, had to cover the pipelines too.

somebody made it to the field before i did:sad:

but they left one

i know when people talk about raping patches, they usually aren't talking about cow fields but this field was RAPED!!! patties torn apart, flipped over to look for pins, i guess. the only reason they left the one they did is because it was sterile and didn't have much of a veil.

whoever has my mushrooms better keep an eye out,:kingcrankey:i WILL find you

ok so i bought a new camera!!! this is where i usually find my cubes...


i went out yesterday, right when it got cold again...
just found one cube..




and i find these sometimes too but i dont know what they are..




and some more agaricus!
