Dude Cannibal Corpse is pretty lame, they just growl about horror movie type crap.  No message, no meaning, just vicious crap.  The music is just real fast, no technical proficiency whatsoever.  For metal look to Lamb of God, Slayer, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, Mayhem (Your scene, look into their history. SO METAL!!), etc.

Atleast listen to some people that know how to play some music not just thrash at their guitar like a crazy person.

Total bullshit. You need to be highly skilled player to play most death metal well along with good endurance. I love death metal but it's too abstract for most.
