I'm looking to play a strategy game next, but not along the lines of Starcraft, C&C, and the likes..
Maybe Civilization? Which one is the best of the series? Or I'm thinking about some Tycoon game. But there's soo many of those..
I'm just not sure. Can you guys recommend something cool to play?

Well Rome Total War's campaign mode is kind of cool. Its like Civ and starcraft combined. Its by far my favorite RTS of all time.

CIV4 was good...CIV5 has too many bugs...
Rome total war has the Civ part... and then zooms in for epic battles...

Yeah I was considering Civ4 over the new one. But I went ahead and reinstalled Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

I still don't get how anyone could have enjoyed the civilization games.
It was like playing Total War, without the battles . Plus my B-52 bombers kept getting shot down by spearmen . IMHO, one of the worst games ever made.
All the Total War games are unbelievably good, except they are pretty buggy, and Sega isn't exactly going out of their way to fix them. I downloaded all the patches for Medieval 2, and my knights still wont charge. I also can't progress any more in Empire because of the turn switch bug.

Try Tropico 3 for a fun, different strategy game.

I agree, Tropic 3 is such a fun game. You could spend many many hours playing it.

I love strategy games.
Civ 4 is probably still my favorite. Probably my all-time favorite game. There are so many awesome and easy-to-use MODs that change the game almost entirely that it's nearly endless fun.
I also love Sins of a Solar Empire, it's real-time strategy, which you may not like, but it's very epic, with pretty neat graphics and very intense battles. I've spent a big chunk of time playing this game.
My girlfriend loves Zoo Tycoon, and all of the sim games. SimCity 4, Simcity Societies, etc.
I didn't really get into Tropico at all.
