I'm too socailly retarded to even eat a christmas dinner with my family.  It was too akward for me to sit with my family and eat a meal so me and my girlfriend had to leave and now we are sitting at home alone on Christmas eve crying.
I feel like a completely worthless piece of shit.

What are you talking about that you had to leave your families Christmas dinner? They are your family, they already know that you are "socially awkward", so they are already expecting some awkward moments to happen over dinner time.

I was the same way when I was a kid.  I'm not sure how I ever managed to quit being shy and socially dysfunctional. I'm the exact opposite now. I guess you should remind yourself that your family won't be around forever. Learn to appreciate the times you spend together. If you smoked marijuana today, I would say that's probably the main reason.

i did and still do. But its manageable now. Find the right medication or sumthing. Our life experiences are dictated by transmitters in the brain, if yours are fuxxored then simple things like having a holiday dinner can suck. I know!

This is deeper then just being socially retarded, You have a girlfriend dont you? What reason do they have to treat you like a stranger at the dinner table, what are some of the big issues you have with your family?

I'm early middle-aged and I still can't stand family gatherings. Christmas and Thanksgiving are like fucking torture to me every year.
I'd seriously rather take a good hard kick in the balls than sit through a thirty minute family dinner.
But there's no reason to beat yourself up about it. I don't. There's really nothing wrong with it as long as you visit your family separately without the family gathering ceremony from time to time.
Family gatherings are just awkward and they fucking suck.
