Help me identify some mushrooms that are very strange, at least to me!
    #13097107 - 08/24/10 07:15 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

I live in north, eastern part of SC. This year I have experienced very strange mushrooms growing in my very wooded large backyard.  I have recently found bright orange mushrooms, very neon green mushrooms with brown stems and a large almost wooden flat topped mushroom. could I get some help perhaps with identifying these. I worry that my dogs who eat anything will indulge and get sick!

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

sorry! not meant to be a poll, it was meant to be a question! Just doing research! Thanks to the kind person who actually responded with an answer, perhaps understanding that I am a new user and have found these mushrooms and the only place that I have found one to match the almost wooden mushroom was on the discovery channel and it was listed as a rare mushroom noted to be found in sc only and rare!:ooo:
