Once you learn that almost all the big names in porn have herpes, they just see it as a minor annoyance, which is fair, I suppose, and bacterial genital infections quite frequently, it seems less hot. Oh, and that the women in the films agree to sex for money, but end up degraded and sometimes almost literally raped kind of puts me off as well.

You are absolutely right.
Remember guys they film a lot of that stuff a few takes a film. You dont get to see the crazy shit that happens when they delete the footage. They do re-shoot.
