Depends on the what you want to do.
I see plenty of jobs that require a degree. Plenty do not. In my case, college was absolutely critical, and the best decision I've ever made.
Others clearly don't need it.

you dont need college to get a job. but you most likely do need college if your seeking a long term career.

don't listen to anyone who tries to scare you with debt. You'll get a better job right out the door and it will be worth it in the long run--something only a college kid would know.

I have yet to put any money forth for tuition. Only recently have I taken loans to cover living expenses. If anything get a 2 year degree.

yeah... I didn't get that memo.
but I don't regret going to college at all, just somewhat regret going to a private school (much more debt) and not getting a more practical degree.
now I'm going back to a state school to earn a degree in the healthcare field.

well obviously there are variations due to the economy, but you are worth a lot more, and eligible for a much broader range of employment.

college graduates who know what kind of better job they want, create a solid network, and are ambitious enough are the ones that get it out the door. average college kids who just go to college because everyone does it are just getting themselves into debt. i'm getting into a better career then about half of my college friends are and i don't have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to do so.

a CC in washington, now a university. Pell grants, Wa state need fund, grants, scholarships, etc. By the time I left the CC i had actually made money by attending.

Pretty much this man. If you are ambitious and have a goal and know where you want to be then college is the way to go. After 2 years I had no idea why I was even in college and dropped out. My best friend graduated, but guess what he's doing now. The same thing I am.

Im not just talking about trying to apply for jobs where you need a degree
and do not have one lol. So many people are successful indeed by paving
their own path through ambition without college.
If you can afford to go to school you should. Its not going to hurt
you. But for the majority it is a luxury they cannot take part in.
