 Search result improvement idea

I use the search feature here very frequently and there is one things about the results that has always bothered me. When searching Subject only, with "One Result Per Thread" checked, many of the search results will be one of the thread replies. There is no reason why all results shouldn't link to the original thread post when searching with these parameters.

there's an option for searching the subject and right next to it is an option for main post only
it's there, you've just been missing it

there isnt a way to search for only main posts is there?
nothing is more obnoxious (except me) than searching something and have 1/4 of the page be replies all to the same thread

You could check the "show one result per thread" option or change the drop downs (one of which allows you to search main posts only).
So yes, there is.

Hey Picklez how's it goin man
Ok, so I see now that it's possible to search main posts.
But, logically, searching the main post only should be default, if only for aesthetic reasons. It's rare for a person to change a thread title in his or her reply. It should default to searching the main post, and give you the option of searching replies as well.
