first time trying the stb tek..
how cold does my freezer have to be? i only have a mini fridge i can use. i was thinking i could put ice in a container and set the jar in it to help keep it cold.
plus im only using half of a batch. 50 grams of MHRB.
would a glass with more surface area be better? it should freeze it better right? or just do it faster?
plus what would i do with the naphtha when im done? can i use it for other batches? it would just be more impure?
i read a tek on dmtnexus where they heated the naphtha in a pot of boiling water? what is the point of that?

You should evaporate down to a smaller amount, and put it in the freezer with more surface area.
And the heating naphtha is for recrystallization after you have crystals.
What I did in my "sort of" cold freezer was put ice packs around it similar to what you did, and yes it worked well.

thanks, im starting to get kinda confused cause the stb tek and pictorial on here seemed quite easy but im reading a few different teks and mixing shit up lol
so im gonna wanna put the naphtha in a jar and let it evap down then freeze then empty out the naphtha back into the MHRB jar and let the crystal jar evap more...
how many times can i use the naphtha? i have 2 lbs of powder so im tryin to figure out how many batches to use. thanks again

Lol I know what you mean. Until you do it on your own, it's hard to figure out.
ONce you do it, you just get it, ha.
But reusing naphtha on 2 pounds is way too much. I usually don't reuse naphtha.
Personally, I evaporate all my naphtha in a flat pyrex baking dish because a jar will take forever to evaporate.
Then I scrape.
More recently I evaporated 600 ml --> 50 ml and then put that in the freezer and poured off the naphtha once I took it out of the freezer, and poured it off and evaporated the remains.
Had about a gram in the dish, and about .1-.2 in the evaporated remains

Dry ice in your fridge might work as well.

haha thanks guys.... i may have a possible problem but idk...
i had about 25 ml of naph in a jar and wanted to evap it down but i didnt know how long it took so i put a small fan on it over night and it evaped all the way down. so i sucked up like 5 more ml out of the jar and swirled it around for a few minutes then covered and put in the freezer.
i should see crystals freeze to the jar right? then pour the tiny extra off and evap the rest?
i guess i just need a few attempts to see whats up.

What do you mean evapped all the day down?
Do you mean there was no naphtha when you woke up? Sorry charlie, but if you have no crystals after ALL of it evaporated, you won't have any putting 5 more ml in there.
If it's gooey and sticky, you still have some DMT.
Let it sit for about 8 hours in the freezer and check on it. If you don't see any crystals forming I would try a bigger extraction next time.

haha my heart dropped and was lifted in a matter of seconds. it was sticky, there was such a small amount of it left i said it was gone.ive never seen the crystals forming but im pretty sure i got some crystals forming.
if you used 600 ml, shouldnt that be 400gs of MHRB, which should have given you around 4gs of dmt, not only 1 gram?
should i just add another 75ml of nap to the jar of MHRB? or would i add less?
thanks so so much for direct answers. looking around and putting info together sucks.

Do not heat Naptha on the stove, use a bowl of boiling water under the mixture bowl to heat it. My mini fridge worked fine, yours will too if it will freeze liquids on the shelf below the freezer. Once you are done waiting for the freezer to do its thing, there will still be crystals floating in the naptha, so carefully pour the naptha off til there is almost none left, and shake the container around til the loose crystals lodge onto the built-up ones on the sides of the precip container - then pour the rest of the naptha off for later use.
