This guy at the bar told me about his stealing habits
    #12844176 - 07/03/10 11:23 AM (2 years, 10 months ago)

This is what he told me...

"I have a habit of shoplifting.  I have been doing it for over 10 years now and never been caught.

This year, I have sold $4,800 worth of goods online.

This year, I have stocked up on a five year supply of all personal hygiene and household supplies that don't perish.  I can use two brand new Gillette Sensor3 razor blades a week to shave with for the next five to six years, just to name one item.  Soap, toothbrushes, dental floss, laundry detergent, sponges, everything.

I also switch bar codes on clothing to get huge discounts.  I just bought two Columbia cargo pocket(with zippers and whatnot) shorts that normally cost $40 each for....$17 each.  I did the same with jeans a year ago and filled my dresser.  I got my $350 all-in-one printer for $69.99, my $230 golf clubs for $19.99(haha, stupid cashier), and my $80 wireless mouse and key board for $15.

I also rip off all my produce on the self serve...a big bag of apples is placed on the scale..no barcode..limes..quanity = 1.  I do this with pomegranates, mangoes, kiwi, apples, peaches, and more!

I go on road trips all over my state and steal.  I will collect things like baseball cards and them sell a bulk amount on craigslist.

I always keep an eye out for receipts and then steal any easy-to-steal items so I can return them for cash.

I also return stolen goods without a receipt to Walmart, Fred Meyers, and Target so I can collect a gift card.

There are a few other things I do to save money, but I don't want others to ruin those scams for me.

This all adds up to about $10,000 - $15,000 under the table cash/savings, and because it is tax free, it is like making $15,000 - $20,000 more a year."

What do you all think about this guy?

As long as he is not ripping off independent businesses and sticks to huge stores that factor that into their business plan and his actions do not effect the incomes of the lower economic status people, he is chill.

My homie is training to be manager at CVS pharmacy and he says he sees people steal shit every day.  He is not allowed to do anything a bout it except suggest that they may have forgotten to pay for the item.  They are not allowed to touch the thief or pursue them if they are walking away, so nobody has ever gotten busted while he has worked there.j

That is idiotic. Stealing is never okay, no matter how you try to justify it.

i'd say he's full of shit. he might have tried some of those things and got away with it, but he does not make 15,000 per year off small ticket items...

and if somehow he is legit, he's gonna get busted eventually. that's just too many transactions...too many chances. gonna slip up one day.

My bad I didn't mean to imply that this is okay.  But I would not feel the obligation to tell him to stop or anything like that.  The only "victim" of this crime is a really rich person who factors the shoplifting into their business model and makes a fortune anyway.  Its still not an ethical thing to do nor is it an intelligent thing to do.

Unless lost of people do it. Then the price of stuff goes up, wages are reduced to cover it - not the execs wages, the little guys wages.

This effects "little people" just the same as stealing from independent stores - it just takes longer to filter through.

I mean they hire less people and or charge higher prices to cover the loses which means the people on minimum wage that shop there can afford less.

On some documentary about the daily life of crack addicts on hbo awhile ago (theres a stream online I forgot the name tho) these crackheads run out of crack and need money for more and one of em says "come on" to the camera man and the camera guy follows him into the store and the crack head just picks up a set of golf clubs and just straight up walks out of the store without paying it was so effortless nobody did anything to stop him.  A caption on teh screen said he sold it within 1 hour for 200$ worth of crack haha

If the guy is really making 10-15k a year off small ticket items/scams then it must take a heck of a lot effort to do.

You could easily put that effort towards a legit way of earning a similar amount of money.

ah, that really sounds like he is full of bs. As someone else said, he might have tried a couple of those things a few times, but he certainly isnt stealing all those things and isnt making as much money as he says

What did he do, high jack a truck or something? This makes no sense otherwise. And someone who is so far into it to actually be truck jacking wouldnt bother with petty theft

I can't wait till winter time i'm gonna jack the shit out of the dollar generals round town yo and buy like something small before i leave.  My jacket is huge has tons of pockets on it and is gangsta.  Deodorant, toothpaste, floss, razor blades, q-tips, etc...

I'm gonna subscribe to this thread so I can get that much needed motivation to go jacking from place to place to place.  Gonna have like 20 stores saved on my GPS.

And just in case you think you're smooth and gonna delete your post imma copy paste it here and if the MODS try to delete the thread I'll already have saved it in a notepad on my desktop.  THANKS OP

  << Haha, already beat you to it suckas!

"I'm not a murderer because I only kill bad people"

THIEF!! THIEF!!

That man is a THIEF! He is one of the causes pricves are going up, living a parasitic lifestyle, ultimately, on the wallets of the customers.

If you steal from the store you steal from the customers cause prices are going to go up.

He is a THIEF and a PARASITE.
