 1st time grow pf - tek with pictures.. would like some advice

this is the same cake 3 of the inoculation points have grown some white while one of them hasn't grown anything...not sure why this is happening.. these are 2 weeks in.
This next one is the same age its growing the white more rapidly on this side but on the other side there is about 50% as much of the white.(the image wouldnt upload)
what do u guys think any word would be good for me this is my first attempt.

Growth looks fine as far as I can tell from the picture. If one side didn't grow, and you're sure you didn't miss that inoculation point, could be a number of things, either the spores didn't germinate yet and will soon, they got sterilized by the needle on the way out or something. Either way unless a contaminant sets in there, the other growth will fill in the gap eventually.
Next time, though it might take you more time looking around or possibly require you to pay a little more, get the wide mouth half pint jars. The growth on that second jar (the 3rd pic) would already have reached the bottom by now and would be spreading out. Much quicker.
Also, one more thing, though a perfect picture isn't that necessary in this situation, the more focused/detailed the subject of the picture is the better in this hobby, so if you do need help or see something weird and need to ask anyone on here, test your pictures first, as in, look at them on your computer, and make sure what you're asking about is in focus, not the TV trays in the background.
So far so good, 2 weeks colonization to that point isn't that bad, it could just be poor genetics or something. How long did it take to germinate?

You'd definitely be better off using 1/2 pints next time around (I'm assuming those are pint-sized jars?) Also, how much ms solution did you inject per jar? If you're using larger jars, you'll need to increase the amount of solution from what's recommended in the tek.

there 1/2 pint.. i used a 20ml syringe of penis envy for 15 jars.. i squirted a little bit out inbetween each jar after i flame sterilized the needle. I dont know exactly how long it took to germinate i think less than 5 days before i saw the first spec of white. but so far so good its not ruined? lol.. from the things i've read it said this stage takes about 3 weeks.. you think it will take these jars longer? I have more jars where all 4 spots are growing but i was a little concerned with the gaps in some.
I appreciate the help !

I have heard this "strain" takes longer to colonize.
Make sure it's around 75 degrees F. No higher than 81.

Those are not 1/2-pint jars- they look like wide-mouth pint jars to me. But whatever they are, they're larger than 1/2 pints. That's one reason it's taking so long to colonize- there's *twice as much substrate to colonize. If you want to use pint jars effectively, you'll need to inoculate with more MS solution.
Also, there's no need to squirt out solution between inoculations- it's just a waste of spores. If you're flame sterilizing properly, that's all you need to do.

It's a tall (regular mouth) half pint as opposed to a short (wide mouth) half pint.

I could easily be mistaken... but those really look like widemouth pint jars to me.
EDIT: Found another thread here....didn't even know these jars existed. My bad, OP. Still would advise you to use widemouth next time around.

I think they are the 1/2 pint regular mouth jars look at the monster ring compared to the actual Jar.
I too recommend the 1/2 pint wide-mouth Jar although they are really hard to find in my area there was only 1 store in town that sold them but they are closed now!!!

yes, it seems all they have in the box stores are those quilted jelly jars which look kinda like these. Smaller hardware stores should be able to special order your half pint wide mouths.
Or there's always the internet...

Hey sorry for jacking your thread mr. tripper but how long does it take for a fully colonized cake to fruit after being put it optimum fruiting conditions? both using the dunk and roll method and without using the method?

Sweet!! thanks man for the link  so it turns out after full colonization it takes 7 days till it fruits so you might as well leave it in the incubation for an additional 7 days after fully colonized.
For oysters after birthing and using the dunk and roll it takes 4 days to start to fruit so i presume it would be around the same amount of time for cubes?
