 Second Hippy Movement

What if society is creating a perfect storm that will result in a psychedelic and cultural renaissance? We have all these conflicts all over the world. We have many countries creating missiles and countries that may soon have nuclear weapons. The majority of the population has now acknowledged that climate change is a problem. We have the oil spill. The current economic systems of the world, and the US in particular are greatly flawed. And then we have the internet. The internet is growing exponentially. It provides us with a great means of communicating and it provides us with tons of information.
More and more people are realizing the ease of producing shrooms and even extracting DMT, which maybe 10 years ago even a lot of trippers hadn't heard about. The thing with shrooms, and DMT even, is that anyone can grow/extract it. Shrooms are even easier to grow then weed! Spread the knowledge. LSD and PCP and all other synthetic psychedelics require advanced chemistry knowledge, but shrooms and DMT just require a few hours of research. Now with the internet more and more people will begin micro-operations. Its easy to produce a few ounces of shrooms or a few grams of DMT cheaply and discreetly. A few dedicated stoner kids could provide enough shrooms and DMT for a whole campus, and that is where it starts.

I figured out a way to make pickles out of cucumbers.
You just jar the cucumbers, immersed in vinegar.
I plan to start marketing my product in the fall.

The hippy/hippie movement of the past will never work.
Drugs can't solve the fundamental problems of survival and that was the downfall.
A successful movement must address things such as food, water, comfort, sanitation... as a whole and on an individual level.
You can't have your cake and eat it too  you can't drop out of society but also at the same time rely heavily on it.
Peace, love and drugs don't mean shit without lifes essentials.

on a more serious note this is a fun thing to think about but I've discovered the only person you can change is yourself.

i get what your saying. it seems like something similar is happening, but it might be approached in a more sophisticated way, less drugs, more meditation.

The best action, especially in our time, is to relax, and take the time to reflect on past events and reflect on our future plans, instead of jumping to irrational conclusions.

a mother was being bothered by her child while tying to get some work done so she tore up a map of the world and told her daughter to put it back together, hoping it would distract her. however, within a few seconds the daughter called to her mom showing her the finished the map. astonished, the mom asked the child how she did it. the child flipped it over, revealing a picture of a person, saying, once i put the person together the world came together.

Yeah man the hippie movement of the 60s failed for a reason. A lot of people were very immature and thought that they could solve their problems and society's problems through psychedelics.
This is totally false.
While I love psychedelics and think they are excellent tools I think they are just that -- tools.
Only people coming together and working together and choosing peace over violence will solve the current ills of the world. As well as living more consciously and being aware of all it is that you do.
People will save the world. Drugs can help, but in my opinion are ultimately unnecessary.

Organization, government, division of labour, specialization IMO are the wrong way to go.
