I just got my first kettle bells & im looking for exercises to do my abs & chest
I used them yesterday & they've worked my legs & butt really hard, my arms a bit, but not really hit my chest or abs that i can feel I did lunges, swings, curls/lifting them above my head, also used them to stretch my legs & lats using them to intensify a few standing yoga poses
I did that figure 8 passing it between your legs, passing around yourself in a circle, which is supposed to hit abs but i dont feel it really Youtube seems to bring up the stuff i've already listed (swings etc) which is more cardio/leg work, not really hitting the abs hard
Any suggestions?

Swings hit abs pretty good.
Squats hit abs good
You could do bicycles with the kettlebell (lift it up while laying down on back, and act like you're riding a bike) thats what I do
I also do weighted sit ups off the couch and weighted leg lifts

most of the ab shit i do doesnt use kettlebells.
Figure 8s, TGU's, russian twists are the only ones I can think of that can really hit the abs

Thanks for the replies, i think russian twist is the best suggestion, and the swings etc do hit the abs, just not focused on the abs themselves Ill stick to pushups for the chest
All in all i love kettlebells & have given my dumbells away now after using the kettlebells for 2 days

i woulda kept the dumbbells if i was you.
I use kettlebells primarily mixed with a variety of cardio workouts, but would love to have some weights.

racked front squats will hit the abs well.
When doing your swings, focus on tightening the abs really hard at the top of your swing (along with all your muscles, glutes and lats especially). You will notice it.
Also, proper military presses with the kettlebell will get the abs and chest. Got to page 1 of the kettlebell thread and get Enter The Kettlebell.
-------------------- "A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us.
Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.
Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security."
