Pheremone receptors homo vs hetro

A males phermones act differently when intercepted by a females recepters as when they do to another males receptors.

Would this be due to the actual sensing of the phermones, or the phermones themselves?

Which fallowing this same train of thought, Is it possible that the phermone sensors in a homosexual male would be inverse compared to a hetrosexual male, and in essence be more like the females?
