Spore Syringe Viability: Dated 11/09 from Sporeworks...

Hey folks,
I have a Costa Rica spore syringe from Sporework which is dated November of 2009. I have not kept it refrigerated, just at room temperature. There seem to be plenty of spores in the syringe, but I can't decide if I should bother using it. I could make a grain LC out of it and see how it goes. I am hesitant to use it because I used a Burma syringe from Sporeworks that was about 6 months old and the mycellium seemed very weak. It did colonize and fruit, but it took forever. I have searched this topic, and there are lots of different opinions.
What say you?

I would make up a grain LC and give it a try if I were you. i have used old spore syringes with good results and bad
I personally would do some agar work

Try going to GLC with it.
I have resurrected some pretty old spore syringes. But, going to agar/petri with a spore syringe is a PITA Agar/perti works better from a print.
A GLC is no big deal & easy to do. If that old syringe is viable, a GLC will get you plenty of innoculant. GLC will store long term.
