I woudn't say I suffer from it, but I have a minor case that invovlves avoiding certain numbers and I count just about fucking everything. My best friend however is going whacko status. He has to reach towards his wall so many times before leaving the room, snaps his right hand furiously several times a day, can't split polls when walking, and has to walk circles around my car before he can get in. I honestly blame a lot of it on him not working for years and having nothing to keep his mind occupied.

I used to have a bad case of OCD when it came to orange juice. I would have to constantly check the top to make sure I screwed it on tight enough.
It was only with orange juice for some reason.

I've been diagnosed with it, but psychedelics really ease the symptoms. Shrooms in particular saved me from being an OCD wreck.

I REALLY need to have a mushroom trip soon. LSD does help, but I think Mushrooms might do more for me. I have OCD without compulsion. I basically have certain thoughts that pop into my head over and over again. Its rough at times, but meditation, music and marijuana have really helped me out a lot. If you ever want to talk shoot me a PM man.

I suffered from it from 12-14, caused by extreme stress and anxiety.
I ended up working through it on my own, when I went to a different school and was taken out of the situation that was causing so much mental pain.
It sucked.

yeah
I used to be on a few meds for it but quit taking psych pharms a few years ago and have never felt better.
Breaking a sweat exercising at least once a day, a good diet, and a conscious effort not to procrastinate made all the difference for me.
oh yeah, and weed and mushrooms too

Mine is really compulsion based. It's so much better now it's not even funny (thanks to mushrooms), but five years ago it was destroying my life. I literally could not stop certain self-destructive compulsions (like eating sand for example). To this day I have to be careful what I "get into" because it's not easy for me to be able to stop a behavior once it begins.

True that. I now feel like I have an advantage over a lot of other people, thanks to my obsessive ability to get super-hyper-focused and fixated on anything that attracts me.

I really need to take a mushy trip soon... I just need to get this one thing worked out in my life before hand (unrelated), then I will probably embark on the voyage soon after...

We must have differnent type of OCD because it is best for me to ignore it and push it out of my mind of face it. I kind of get what you mean.

I was on a lot of stuff for it but feel better about it when I am off but they may have fucked me up a little bit, especially the last one... maybe. Right now amphetamines and xanax sort of help but I really need some more natural medicine.

I'm really sorry, but I laughed my ass off when I read that.
I don't think compulsions like this are funny, but the way you said it made me bust out laughing. "Like eating sand for example" coupled with having to be careful with what you "get into", LOL.
I'm picturing a dude wearing a trench coat in an alley, walking up to you in and being like "Hey... ever tried a bite of sand?"

I counted everything. Steps, fence posts, birds, anything more than 3 I counted. Then after a few visits with a psych they taught me some techniques to overcome it.

I used to suffer from it chronically. Ill give props to shrooms as a temporary help in my case, the week after was pretty ocd free, but it came back; maybr coupled with therapy and technique it would be even more effective.
Took years of focused effort to overcome it, but it is one of the best things I've ever done with my life. Like moth said, now I have the abailty to focus on anything I want for hours, days, weeks, and no anxiety or compulsion. Every now and again ill get a thought to but am so wired the other way I don't fall for it anymore, just flashback or something. Pm me if you really want to overcome it, I can give you all the resources that helped me.
