n e one else get too shy to speak in front of a public audience?
today for example; ws th lsat of my psychology class and we basically all sat around passing around a rock and when you got you can give any thoughts on the year or about your personal life, whatever you want to share with the class.... it was a very nice experience actually, there were two girls on my class that shared getting raped as part of their life story, one guy confessed to having alcohol issues, and stuff like that.... it was really a nice experience but whenever the rock got to me i would shy away even tho i know it would have felt great to maybe share some ideas , even about marijuana? there was a lot of drug talk in the class.... or on the idea to be here now or not worry about society... anything intersting that could come to mind.. but i felt too shy to actually say anything.
most of the class didnt but i wish public speaking in a setting like that didnt bug me out. i dont even kno what it is but i feel like if i would start talking i would just start getting heavy anxiety and lose my ability to speak or move

ya of course its embarrassing because everyone is focused on you the worst experience i had like that was i was in my communications class and we had 4 corners of the room and he kept asking questions to split every1 up to the corners and one question was if you were a virgin and there was only like 4 of us out of eevery1 there (this was freshman year college) it was so embarrassing but i lost it soon after but still they really put u on the spot sometimes

I used to, but not so much any more. I just look up an isle or just glaze my eyes and scan the room so it looks like I see everyone, but I'm just focusing on what I'm saying. It helps if friends are in the audience too!

When I'm sober I get shy sometimes but after a couple shots of booze I don't give a fuck about telling anyone anything. This usually presents problems however.

Crippling anxiety. I can hardly be in a room full of people, speaking in front of them is impossible.

I have severe social anxiety! Weird because when I trip, 26 years of anxiety diminishes completely

I used to get super anxious and stuff, but after being forced to talk in front of like 20 people a week i'm used to it. My only problem with public speaking is i have a super soft voice, and I don't like raising my voice at all.

Not to be rude, but it sounds pretty irrational.
What exactly makes you afraid of expressing yourself to people?
I can understand doing a presentation, standing infront of the whole class.... but it sounds like the attention wasn't necessarily on you, like that.

It's part of drug court, gotta tell them about how my week goes. Some of my sanctions for not doing everything they tell me, includes writing essays. how is me not wanting to raise my voice being irrational? I'm not afraid to express myself to people o___O

I usually take around 3 xanax bars before I speak to an audience.

Being the center of attention and feeling like everyone is judging everything you do with their eyes is never a good feeling I hate public speaking and when i had to do a presentation for class i counted down the days the whole semester until i had to do it
I think the only way to get over it is to continuously put yourself in that situation until the anxiety subsides
