i really liked halo 3 but this game is shit.
why. why wouldnt microsoft use a new engine to make a game that will sell MILLIONS of copies? the fucking graphics are just dressed up a little more.
i dont know if there are many halo fans out there anymore with modern warfare being #1 but i loved the halo series.. it wasnt about who had the best hiding places in halo.. it took reaction skills and team work
they took every good gun out of the game or changed it and not only kept the bad ones but added more. nades kill you if your shield is a cm down and rockets kill you without even touching you.
mlg now belongs to call of duty.. wheres a rabbit so i can kill it

Not a chance. Halo 2 is superior in pretty much every facet of the game.

exactly. halo 2 was everything u could hope for in a sequel.. excepting, of course, the less than par story line. then halo 3 came around and just straight up killed it.

halo 2 was awesome but some things got into the game that the creators didnt mean to put in there.. bxr and bxb were like a shot gun that every player got on spawn.. and double/quad shooting with the BR made it impossible to beat 50s unless you were dedicated.
halo 2 took more skill than imo any game thats ever been made.. my high skill in halo 2 was a 42 (and it was in snipers)
i have gone through 15+ accounts with high skill 50 in halo 3.. something ill never be able to do in reach cus its based on "fun for everyone"
something im wondering is if there will be halo reach mlg in the future. cus if there is it will all be different faces.. kind of shitty imo cus ive been keeping up with mlg since halo 2

Reach most def. will be in MLG. I've been a member over there since April 05 and follow it pretty heavily. Although there is some things needing change in reach such as the reticule bloom needing to reset faster so you can shoot the DMR a little faster i personally think the DMR will be better then the BR once the reticule bloom gets fixed. No more worrying about your 3 shot burst not working on XBL since its now only 1 bullet you have to worry about instead of 3. Although the maps they put out in the beta arn't the best if you think back the maps they put in the H3 beta were garbage also and MLG never used them. SO you cant really say how good or bad the game will be until MLG gets a hold of it and changes weapon damage, player movement speed, etc.

i dunno... the game looks rather interesting to me.
i loved the fuck out of halo 1 and 2. it was great because my freshman year of college, i discovered i could play halo 1 multiplayer over the network with guys all around campus. some fun fuckin' times were had.
that said, i'd still love to give halo reach a shot. i'm no hardcore gamer anymore. the new additions look like they add an interesting element for any fundamentally competent player. so i wouldn't necessarily need to perfect the triple 3-shot burst headshot to keep up playing online.
the new launchers seem interesting. the melee block is a nifty addition. and i like that the assassination animation now adds an element of vulnerability too.
dunno, maybe i shouldn't speak until i've actually tried it... but if you prefer halo 3 so much, just keep playing that instead

and go figure a lot of people couldnt get past that level...
im just saying the new load-outs and gameplay variations will add a lot of strategic elements to the game, and it seems to me thats what people are bitching about...
i am looking forward to it, but im a Battlefield guy, not a Call of Duty guy...

A game that any 11 year old kid can get amazing at is not a game that takes much skill. Halo was one of the first games that brought the casual gamer out to the mainstream, which is now the target market. COD:MW games just perfected that casual gamer formula, that Halo help make. That's my honest opinion though
BTW I'm a big Halo fan but I just haven't ever agreed with the point that Halo did take a lot of skill. Halo: Reach however looks like it might actually be the first Halo game that takes a lot more thought out strategy to play than any of its predecessors.

I would still be playing it if I actually owned ODST.
I do miss it, played the first week.

I hated the ODST game. It was kind of lame, but I just bought it just so I could play the Beta. It kinda sucks buying a shitty game just to play a game i'm going to be buying later anyway. Ohh well, it was only $12 used.

Wow nice, if I could find ODST for that price I'd buy it too.
