Illinois Mushroom ID Request (I think it's a Gym)

Habitat: Where does it grow? It was in the forest preserve near my house and this was a day after it was raining (though it's raining today too)
What does it grow on? When I picked it, I found it attached to wood that had moss growing on it. It was either a branch or a stump that it grew on.
Gills: I don't know what attached means, but these gills aren't straight lines or anything. they look more like a web of small circles that encompasses the whole of the underside of the mushroom
Stem: In comparison to the cap, it is like 1/100 the size. It is small and fat, and it is mostly black
Cap: It looks like it has layers on it. I would say it's more light in color and it's more yellow/gold. It is not as circular as most mushrooms. It's like 90% of a circle then it stops where the stem is. The sides of the cap are VERY wavy.
Spore print color: Not sure if I can make one with this. Bruising: none.
Other information: It smells like a cucumber. THe cap is quite soft to the touch and is smooth, though the underside is much smoother feeling

Just out of curiosity: what made you think that it was a Gym?

I was being a smartass. I know VERY little about mushroom strains and all that. This was my second mushroom ID request and I've only learned of a few types of mushrooms.
I just thought it was a gym
There's a reason I posted it here instead of eatin' the bad boy...

I hear they're a decent edible if you can find them when they're young and soft.
I've never been inclined to eat one, though.
