I like living at home with my parents   its a comfortable house and i don't have to pay rent.  i'm 24.  even when i have a job its not bad at all.  i can do all the things i want to do here, i don't need my own place to have that freedom. i don't see a reason to move out until i buy my own place.  fuck renting

Try affording rent, car insurance, groceries, and college tuition with a minimum wage job.

Thousands of people do it.  Its not as cushy as staying at home, but I think you are a better person for it.

A shitty apartment is about 4-500 a month.
My car insurance is 150
Groceries about 100 a month
Gas about 80 a month.
Text books each semester about 250
4 classes a semester is about 1,000.

I would love to meet these people who are able to afford these costs working at Taco Bell. That's even if Taco Bell gives you 40 hours a week.

afford? no
get by? yes

lending/borrowing the capitalist way.

btw the costs you quoted are apples and oranges. you don't pay 1000/mo to go to school, you pay about 300/mo.
insurance in $/mo or $/6mo ?

I went to college so i took out student loans to pay tuition, the job i worked covered the rest.  When i graduated from college i then was able to take a job to start paying off the loans.  I only have about 3,000 left to pay down and its only been a year since i graduated.

Its not anywhere near impossible to move out at 18

Being "on your own" is easier said than done when you're a broke post-secondary student and the only jobs you qualify for are minimum wage at Subway.

Subway is not your only job option!

There are plenty of factory jobs out there that pay way more than minimum wage and you would qualify for them. They hire felons straight out of jail, why wouldn't the hire you?

Don't you feel like a loser though?

When you meet a girl and she wants to go back to your place at the end of the night, what do you do. Take her back to you moms house???
