far cry for x box is a super dumbed down game for example, although a little old, is a good example. Crysis also will be apparently.
plus all my old shit works all the time. and if i have a good pc, im not going to buy a dedicated dumbed down pc just for playing games. its just:
buy game
install game
play game
consoles do have the advantage of always playing, but even they now have to be patched, plus their gaming networks cost money
pc gaming is a huge market and since these are essentially computer games, they will continue to make versions for computer and dumb them down for console guys all you need is a gamepad, for the guy who said keyboard and mouse are the best, but also gives you the option of playing either way, or both in some cases, i used to do that all the time.

while i admire the plug and play aspect of consoles mods for games extend the shit out of pc games, partial, total conversions, way more add on packs third party and first party to get, people create better graphical versions of games, better compatability, i can run mame, etc.

PC gaming is coming back
i believe blizzard re introduced a whole new gen to PC gaming
and with PCs on the rise
graphics and loading speeds are unbelievable

My 2c here, I did not read all of the thread.
The main issue with ports is the difference in user interface.
Computers have a mouse and a keyboard, Consoles have a gamepad. How in the name of all that is holy, can one try to compete on the same lvl in an FPS/RTS on a gamepad?
its like the amazing race for blind ppl, but one team doesnt get blind sticks to use as they navigate to the next checkpoint.

You can use a USB mouse and keyboard on PS3, it doesn't have to be a specific Sony one or anything either. I don't know how many games take advantage of that though.
