why did quitting weed make me tired?

I quit weed 4 days ago, from smoking 1-2 times a day for more than a year. I expected to have insomnia, but I have been sleeping like 10 or more hours a day.Believe it or not, I have been excersizing less than usual. I slept for like at least 10 hours yesterday, and now its 7:30 PM and I am already tired again. I demand a medical explanation.

same thing is going on me with atm.
Weed was always a pick me up type of drug for me, and I could rarely, if ever, sleep after smoking. Day 5 of not smoking, and like you, I easily smoked 1-2 times a day for the past year+
I'm guessing it's just a phase.

It is. Rest more, eat well, and then exercise when you have the energy and you'll be feeling better soon.

QFT.
Everything is always just a temporary experience.
You have to remind yourself, what you are feeling now is NOT what you may be like tomorrow.. or the next day, or hell, even the next moment.

Ah, that's what I figured, but thanks for the reassurance fellas.
I haven't smoked since Sunday, and I can honestly say I don't miss it at all. I feel healthier, sharper, and have more time to dedicate to other hobbies rather than being in a comatose off some Grade A herb.

Ive experienced something similar to this. My conclusion was that i lost the ability to "zone out".
This makes me lose confidence about my life in general, also leaving me overwhelmed with my life responsibilities.
Too much thinking and lack of confidence always slows me down.

You know whats funny? When I go 3 days+ without weed, I begin to question why I even smoked in the first place, because I feel so great now without weed and I feel like I'm on top of the world
Then...... somehow, someway, I end up smoking more weed, and my addiction begins all over again as I fall in love with the herb

I haven't smoked in 3 weeks and I feel great... my smoking was tapering off for the last few months but I was a stoner for a solid 8 years. I have to second the working out - it definitely helps fill any void there may be and just makes you feel even better.

i get the same thing when i stop smoking... thats kind of why i want to stop though cause i always feel really depressed for a day or two after not smoking at some point and i feel fatigue as fuck...
but one thing i have trouble with is when i watch a movie or a tv shows, it feels like tradition to hit a bowl beforehand, makes it way more fun

Word. I'm on my seventh day and feel amazing. I'm really glad I quit.

for me i find that i dont have dreams if i smoke up during the day, so if i smoke up like 2 weeks straight then one day dont smoke i end up having wild vivid dreams and i dont get much rest because of it and wake up groggy. This is just what i have found seems to happen to me

I would expect in a bit more time things will balance out, try eating healthy food in the meanwhile (and forever!). I'm going to take a break from cannabis also, after smoking a ton on 4/20, I'm on day 2 so far and I feel great, energetic, and more motivated than before. Even after I start up smoking again I plan on cutting down (just for weekends and stuff).

Chronic MJ usage caused me to forget dreams or not have them... I don't know if it affected the quality of my REM sleep but whenever I stop using MJ I get some really intense rebound dreams. Even just snoozing for 10 minutes will give me very detailed dreams... they just stream endlessly.

yea..exactly what happens to me. normally smoke chronic which always gets me energetic, lifted, and I guess somewhat proactive. But shit, the first few days after "taking a break" are the worst. Heavy fatigue, chaotic thoughts, anxious behavior. And normally I exercise daily, while smoking mad weed, but right after quitting, or at least until a week post-quit, my body and mind just don't want to commit to much. The greatest part, however, is the extremely vivid, lucid dreams. For some reason smoking fogs my dreams which sucks. After quitting though, I can walk, talk and think at will.

I'm at about 2 weeks without weed after smoking very heavily for 15+ years. I'm so tired, I can only just about get to work and get home in a day. I'm asleep at around 8pm.
I'm one of those people that used to smoke for a lift - to exercise, to clean the house, etc. Now I feel almost like I have some sort of flu.
I've been googling and I think some people's bodies start to rely on the THC to induce dopamine secretion, and that's what (in theory) causes some people to get "addicted." They're addicted to artifical stimuli for the dopamine production. Not sure if that's related or not.
It's a complete b*tch trying to quit though, I hope I can get past this soon. Don't want to give up though.

i was forced 2 quit for over 3 weeks my legs started hurting again my sleep got fucked so i started again i feel smarter more energetic and happier since i started. things effect you how u want them to weed is not soemthing some 1 should quit unless there is a bad reaction to it. to me seems like when u stop u remember why u started smoking it in the first place. for me the lack of dreams the pain relief and the appetite increase make me remember why i started everytime i quit and the fatique, restlessness and lack of appetite come back but far worse the crippling pain which keeps my energy below zero is gone and its not like opiatews wherei just do not feel it the pain actually goes away and satys away until i decide or am forced to take a break
