Yeah dude dont feel bad! That one got me too! this is my first grow, and i forgot to flame sterlize half of my jars.... All of the PFCs turned green, but my B+ were fine.... Makes me also wonder if i got a contaminated syringe...

you need a pressure cooker. Steaming is hit and miss. I never flame sterilize anything. I do use 91% alcohol in a spray bottle. But i hardly ever use it for syringes. I make my own syringes, so they are clean from the start. I had huge problems steaming. I probably got 75%. When i started using a PC. I got 99% to 100%.

Every single one of my half pint jars with b+ were lost to trich at just about every innoc site. I steamed them at 1 and a half hours. I used a glovebox and flame, but no alcohol wipe. My pint jars were only steamed for one hour apiece, and the hawaiian inside has since been fruiting pretty well. I lost one to some weird white shit, maybe cobweb, and then another had half colonized by some other mold, which i have since cut off and fruited pretty nicely.
This makes me think that the b+ syringe was contammed. That's all i was saying. the evidence seems to pile up against it, especially since the hawaiian did so well. But this is my first grow so i'm probably wrong.
Its just kind of a bummer because i'm not going to be able to grow again for awhile and i lost more than half of my possible yield.

you really need a pressure cooker. when i get contams from syringes, the generally just don't grow anything, but smell really bad. i used to have the same problem before i pressure cooked my jars. i would often get green mold around the inoculation site. but it is strange that you lost all the bt. do you flame sterilize between jars? because you should when you sterilize with steam, or you can use alcohol instead of flame. its easy to drag contams from one jar to the next.also you say they have trick, is this trick alone or is there also myc in there too?

My understanding is that trich looks a lot like mushroom mycellium but the green spores start popping up all over the place.
From my experience with the hawaiian jars, which colonized first because I did them all first, it looked like mushroom mycellium with green spores all over the place.
I did flame sterilize between jars inside of a glove box. Also, I understand that a pressure cooker is the best way to do it. But i steam sterilized my pint jars (double the size of the half pint jars with b+) for only an hour and got no trich at all, just a couple weird things in two of the jars. I steam sterilized the half pint jars for an hour and a half and all were contammed. the procedure was the same for both minus the sterilizing.
I thought i said this in my last post but that should answer your question. It just seems like too much of a coincidence.

well sounds like spores i guess. hard to tell. and i have noticed, different conditions some times give different out comes. usually when i have a contamed syringe i just get stinky jars. but that doesn't relay mean much to you, you may have different conditions, which could give you a different out come. so with that said, you may be getting green mold, from a bad syringe. but one thing is for sure. its good to use a proses of elimination, to figure out your mistakes. this helps to stop making mistakes. also if you flame sterilize between jars, then dragging mold spores, couldn't be the problem.also under sterilization, from steaming, and not PC, wouldn't cause all the jars that were bt, to be bad, or at least it is very unlikely. You did use a glove box, so that rules out air born contams. so the only candidate left is your spores. right?

Now that I think back on this...i may have placed the needle into the syringe outside of my glovebox, which was not a very sterile environment. This could have been the cause.

Do you live in a high contaminate area?? did you nocc in a big room.. try cleaning your bathroom really good and doing it there.

I don't get it?!?!
This go around I started with a print that I won in a contest here. Never worked with a print before, didn't have a glove box, wasn't really sure if I was doing it right. I sould have gotten a contam in the syringe doing it in the open air like that....maybe I got lucky 
Followed the a print to syringe tek on here and followed Shea25's "PF tek done right" to a T.
All 12 jars are fine...no contams, all are colonizing well.
All I can say is use Shea's tek and follow it verbatum NO EXCEPTIONS and it will all work out the next time around.

Hawain strain: four noc'd up. four contaminated
B+: four noc'd up. four contaminated.
BAN HUA THANON: Four noc'd up, all colonized nicely, birthed dunked rolled put in FC with all optimal conditions. Day 19 and no pins. Thats right. Day 19.
I may officially give up on cultivation. months and months of up all night reading teks and threads and everything under the sun.. and now I have finally accepted my faliure..
Whatever I did in the original post. DONT DO. fuck this shit.

I'm not sure what the effects of using instant coffee would be. It's not *really* coffee so I can't imagine it being any good. I regularly use coffee grounds in my pf mix though.
Even in a contam-rich environment flame sterilizing the needle then wiping it down with alcohol between inoculations should be effective.
If you have more trouble with contams I'd recommend switching to spawn bags. It'll cost you a little bit of money to get set up but it's worth it.

Listen I spent years of staying up and reading shit that didn't work. but don't give up. Rome was not built in a day. you almost have to have a will of steal, to keep going some times. Or at least be really stubborn. I could give you a list a mile long on shit that i fucked up, and had to throw away. hell i had to make a compost pit, just for my fuck ups. I have had to dump hundreds of pf tek jars, and remake them. I bet I made 200 grain jars, before i got one to grow. This is the nature of the Hobie. That's what makes success so sweet. But brother man, stick with it, Keep reading, before you know it, you will have pounds of your favorite, edible or active beauties. if its fully colonized, its gotta be your fc that's fucked. im finally getting better at this hobby after a year of practice. im still practicing. jsut keep up with it. stay small so you have small failure. then once you get it, run with it!
