 Selling Plants -- Starting my own Nursery...

I've always thought it would be fun to start up my own nursery and sell plants, as well as other items. I really just want my own business, and this seems like an easy way to go about it.
Does anyone have any ideas as how I should go about starting plants, and selling them?
Of course, this is with minimal investment..
More importantly, has anyone ever tried to do this? If so, how did it turn out?
I have ta decent place to sell them, and I am close to having 1000 pots (3oz + others) ready to get plants growing in with an investment of not even 20 dollars, I plan on selling several types of tobacco, datura, cacti, and a few trees as well as some blackberry plants. Hopefully I will get others soon.
Advice, links, etc would be great!

me and my grandfather ran a mail order caudiciform and pachycaul plant nursery where we would import plants from madagascar and all over africa. we ran that for about 4 years and we also maintained a storefront as well.

This is also a dream of mine. Have you ever read 'Plants From Test Tubes: An Introduction to Micropropagation?' You might find this to be an interesting read. The ability to clone plants would give you an edge over other local nurseries (depending on location) and if you grow mushrooms, you may already be familiar with sterile culture work.

i wish there was a nursery in my neighboorhood that sold a buncha psychoactive plants

This is a great idea, I'm interested in obscure ethnobotanicals myself.
I've never considered it as a commercial venture, though I'm sure that even though success would be extremely easy where I live the pigs would find some way to shut me down.
Just keep it all legal and make sure no one has any reason to put you out of business or in the slammer and you've got your dream world.
