...you are hunting mushrooms on a creek trail. From a distance you see a patch oozing with mushrooms. As you walk closer they suddenly retract into the ground. You kneel down and start digging up woodchips only to discover the mycelium is very alive. Roping strands snake in and out of the woodchips and it begins to rhizo-morph into spider eggs! The eggs explode and thousands of high velocity spiders savagely attack you. You gasp for air and wake from your nightmare.

Even though your early hunts aren't producing anything you keep going by telling yourself that walking around in the woods is stimulating mycelium growth that may have been dormant from the winter.
These long winded ones aren't as clever :/
