 Moe's outdoor grow tek question

Moe's Outdoor Growing Tek
in this tek, it says to use hay and poo. Every other bulk method i've read says to pasteurize the hay/poo. Is there any reason why this one doesn't? and if there isn't a reason, should i just follow the tek as is or pasteurize anyways? thanks guys

maybe because that tek is for outdoors where you are pretty much at the mercy of nature as far as contams go  I don't think pasteurizing would hurt anything, but since the bed is outdoors the goal is really just to give your hay some water content

With enough spawn to colonize fast enough you wouldn't need to. I would though.
