 When making a grain LC....

hello all, im going to try my luck with grain LC to see if it works better for me than a sugar based LC. I was wondering, can I use any type of grain to make this LC (brown rice), or does it have to be specific (wbs,corn kernels)? it seems to me that the mycelium has to dislodge from the grain, i see this would work better with something like wbs than brown rice, but please correct me if im wrong? much thanks!

you cant do it with pf tek cakes, but you can do it with wbs, rye, popcorn, etc... i would imagine you could do it with straight brown rice, too

Quick question,
I`m thinking of doing the same and storing in a 50ml syringe.
How long can I expect it to last in the fridge?

I have kept a jar of about 500ml grain lc in the fridge for over 6months and used it and it worked fine.

I would say at least 2-3 months. The longest I kept mine was 2 months and that was a 10cc and it did great.

Actually, the original tek by Lil Kush was done using PF tek cakes.

It will work with anything (I would assume) as long as you get a sterile transfer of live myc from the donor to the host.

really? id be interested to know how that was done...im assuming the dry verm layer would have to be removed, but that seems like risky business (would prob be easy to contam). and it seems like youd be getting chunks of verm stuck in your needle

I use a 12 gauge harpoon on a 20 - 60 cc plunger, It never clogs, (yet) knock on wood. The 1st and only time I made LC from a PF jar I didn't use a dry verm layer just 2 layers of micro spore tape. I then removed the tape in glove box and applied silicone to the 4 injection holes and allowed it to dry for about 8 hours. I then shot it up with 40 cc of distilled water, shook it up real well and was able to extract about 20 back out. That was shot in 250 ml Karo LC and about 10 days later WOW.
This was not the easiest of methods but it worked.
