Closest "relative" to peyote?

I've been reading a lot about the Peyote religion recently, and was wondering what the closest "relative" could be obtained since Peyote is illegal to those out of the Native American Church.
Also, for those who know; do cacti like San Pedro or Peruvian Torch have the same anti-biotic properties as Peyote? In other words, are they used as medicinal plants by indigenous peoples?

Are you asking what is the closest member genetically? or are you asking which is the closest, with similar active properties?

I assume both questions are related, but I am curious about the active properties, for spiritual purposes.

they both have a high enough mescaline content to trip, if that's what you mean. i've only tried san pedro though.
if i remember correctly from p bio lots of cacti have carbenicillin which has antibiotic properties, but i'm not positive if these do specifically. i looked at pubmed real quickly and there was nothing about it
