I always wonder what leads people to making the decisions they do when it comes to the course of their life. Maybe posting your goals and motivations could help inspire someone else. Tell us what gets you out of bed in the morning. What are your passions. Your short-term or future goals. Travel, experiences, love, career, fame.. you name it. Anon if you want. It's all the same.

I enjoy learning and undertsanding shit. I also enjoy being happy.
I have atatined a nice mix of professional drive and lethargic stoner -- it works out well

I study physics in school. I may go to grad school. I want to be an astronomer. I'm especially interested in our sun because it's right over there, and it's amazingly beautiful. I get chills looking through my telescope at star formation. Orions belt region is amazingly beautiful on a clear winter night.
I want to create music and art for no other reason than the beauty of expression.
I wantto eat mushrooms in the woods again except not when it's 40 degrees out (on shrooms 40 degees feels like I'm dying lol) The way tree shadows melt into complex geometry behind closed eyelids is amazingly beautiful.
in conclusion: I want to experience things that are amazingly beautiful.

i want to wake up every day and go to my meaningless job that pays my rent and phone and car insurance.
come home to my girlfriend or hopefully eventually a wife.
have a couple beers and smoke pot with her till we want to go to bed.
sex isn't nessecary every night but is much appreciated.
trip on psychedellics and do K every so often when i have the next day off and can afford it.
i really feel like i need to discover what psychedellics can show me. they just interest me a lot.
thought about making video games eventually. i have some good ideas for it, but im not good at math. so i can settle for the meaningless job.
i'm motivated to want a place to come home to daily where i feel loved and wanted.

A PhD and not being a shitty parent like mine were.
Also to do my best to enjoy each day I'm here and breathing. Going from christian to atheist was a rough trip for me (thanks conditioning), but now that I'm here and I view death as the end all... well it really makes every day worth living no matter how shitty it may be going.

I've had shitty months, after opiate dependence I had months of depression that was unreal. Sounds morbid but in those moments I'd watch shit like Schindler's List or the Pianist or any other movie that shows what it's like to have it really bad. That normally cheered me up or at least got me realizing how paltry my situation was.

Love for my fiancee gets me up every morning.
If I ever lose her, it's  for me.
Yeah, that sounds bad, and maybe it is to some. But I've been dead for years now, I just need a reason and nothing to leave behind.
So, for now, I wake up and do my best for her, because nothing means anything to me anymore.

I hope someday you're able to find happiness in yourself, Dystopia. Life has a way of taking away what we love the most in order to perpetuate growth. The most explicit example is plain old death. Not to say that life will rip you and your loved ones apart, but it is a possibility, and if you can find strength in yourself now you'll be much more well equipped to handle the challenge.
As for me, I am motivated by the desire to express myself and the urge to experience the things that appeal to me on different levels. Doing what I suspect is "right" makes me happy, and though I stumble for days, months and years at a time, I always seem to find my way back onto my path eventually.

at some point.
i kinda think drugs did this a lil..atleast to me.
i felt like whatever i knew about my self died inside, and i became this person who i am now.
the trick i've been trying to do latly, is find who i am now and move past the fact that im not what i used to be. we all grow up. i just didnt grow up the way i or my family thought.
i understand what he means by if she goes he'll go.
thats something deep that few people gather i think anymore.

What motivates me? Educating myself, expanding my mind, and then spreading the knowledge.
I'm working towards getting a PhD, and hopefully trying to do something to increase society's tendencies towards open-mindedness. Maybe I'll succeed at neither, but as long as I'm happy I'm fine.
