So I don't know if this has been brought to anybody's attention yet, but Bouncing Bear Botanicals has recently been raided and the owner put in jail.
I don't know the full story, but came across this letter the owners father wrote to the public.
I was never really a customer at BBB, but think its still a pretty notable event, seeing as though it's a store containing all LEGAL entheogens.
This i what his father says: They have given Jon a one million dollar bond.
They have charged him with smuggling drugs.
They say they will be adding more charges.
The charges are 100% bogus. They are saying he has been smuggling illegal drugs via his cactus shipments. They have stolen all of the products out of the warehouse, and stolen all of his money from his bank.
Bouncing Bear is and was a 100% legitimate company and business. Never, ever have they shipped, or done anything related to illegal drugs.
These are the feds - these people are not nice. They don't care whose life they destroy. They just want to win.
And, unfortunately, Jon is in a county jail in Oskaloosa KANSAS. The judges and the prosecuters are as right-wing "Protect our children" as they come.
This is about the worst place in the world to have this happen.
Even juries from this part of the words are terrible. People turn off their brains in this neck of the woods.
We need to figure out how to get Jon out of jail. One million $ bond is no small matter, especially after they have stolen his business and his money.
Start brain-storming on how to raise the money to get him out.
Jon is a 29 year old, honest man with a 6 year old son at home.
I am Jon's dad. His son is now at my house. Jon is in a 7 by 9 jail cell.
They have put Bouncing Bear out of business - for now at least.
They raided the warehouse.
They put a gun to Jon's head as if he was wicked drug dealer.
The confsicated all of his bank accounts, personal and business.
They left him NEGATIVE $55,000 in the bank so that he can't hire a lawyer or post bond.
They stole $300,000 worth of products.
They stole a bank deposit worth $200,000.
This is a serious violation of his civil rights. They are common thieves. They don't care who they destroy - they just want to win.
We need to find the best libertarian lawyer in the world who will be willing to fight the bastard federal government.

This guy was in no way a criminal, I can understand busting a big time drug lord but this guy has no criminal involvement in anything at all and none of the things he sells is illegal.

Apparently it had something to do with their K2 product.
It contained syntetic cannabinol. Still scary that the DEA is going after entheogen based stores though.

the drug in k2 is not even illegal as far as i know. as long as he dont plea i cant see them possibly being able to prove he commited a crime. expecially if that is the main reason. it is not even illegal. also i think that a lawsuit should be filed

If you're taking the time to distribute them like that, you need to make a profit. It was obviously his full time job.
Either way, I sure hope he wasn't importing JWH's into a state where they were known to be illegal and that the whole thing blows over and he gets reimbursed and comes back even harder

wow that is insane.
i know the ACLU does cases for free as long as they get a (pretty large) portion of the damages. even if they did take most of the awarded damages at least the guy gets off the hook.
dont know if this applies to them or not though..
