I've been a Saints fan for the 22 years I've been on this planet. My dad started bringing me to games when I was 3. I've never seen the Saints make it all the way, and we always would say "wait until next year." Well, the year has finally come... and the jubilation in this state is palpable.
But as far as us being so happy because we sucked for so long... yes and no. Even when we "sucked," we still kept people in the stands. We're a very, very loyal fanbase.

All I gotta say is, mothafuckas, I wore that dress! Pictures forthcoming. That was HUGE especially given that it was just barely above freezing when the parade started!
I was happier today than when I took ecstasy on New Year's.

These days the New Orleans region (and I'm talking not just the city but south Louisiana and most of Mississippi and Alabama who don't have an NFL team) sports a college football atmosphere in an NFL setting.
No NFL city could possibly have had more fun!!

I don't know where you people are- but where I'm at the beer is flowing like milk and honey. People are partying like its 1999 like you wouldn't believe. Me, I'm trying to keep it calm (right) and looking to shut it down towards the end of the week although I've had my fun and sacrificed some sleep. I think midweek is when this whole region starts toning it down and channeling our mojo towards the team.

I don't know why you think Colts fans are any less passionate than Saints fans. They love their team too; I can attest to that. I see it every day.
While Saints fans are in a special circumstance because of their location and lack of winning in the past, they're not the only fan base excited for this game.
