I don't like the misuse of the word "retarded". I work with the mentally challenged. They don't like that word. I understand the allusion to the challenged, but it seems childish and petty to use it.

i don't like when people complain about the usage of words like "retard," "nigger," and "faggot"

i would never call a developmentally disabled person retarded, i would only call a black person a nigger on the rarest of occasions, and i'd only call a gay man a faggot like ... a third of the time

but my point is, these are powerful words with very specific connotations -- to call someone retarded is a real judgement about their intelligence, and to call them a faggot has way greater impact than calling them whiny

giving up words that powerful, just for a little political correctness ...
not worth it, IMO

it makes sense to say both "i couldn't care less" and "i could care less" but they both have to be in a different context. to say "i could care less" means, i am able to care less than i already do. "i couldn't care less" means, well, just that. so they both make sense, but if you are trying to imply that you don't care about something AT ALL, saying i could care less makes no sense... (although i think this is obvious information and isn't really necessary)
