Small Fruiting Chamber for 1 Cake Ideas?

I only have 3 jars colonized, and need a fruiting chamber idea that fits 1 cake.
Any ideas that won't be over 10$ per chamber, or a pain for me (like finding 3L bottles) lol? I need to save money for a full sized chamber

If money's your concern, you can find upwards of 40L tubs for under 15$ around my area, you just need to shop around a bit. If space is a worry, you could always use a bucket, or a small 20L container like i've done.
I've also seen 2 or 3L bottles used as a humidity dome like you would make for a salvia plant.

you really dont need alot. stick with the large bottle with slits in it. just use any plastic container with slits cut all over it. you can even use a 2 liter or a 1 liter. perfection isnt necessary.

Since their won't be room for a thermometer in a 3L, and my house has the thermostat set to 15 (cold at night) and I live in Canada, will they still be fine fruiting?

You could spawn it to a bulk substrate in a 2-liter soda bottle. I did that (spawning grain, not BRF, but it's the same idea) and here's my result:

Holy crap, nice grow. What substrate could I easily spawn BRF cakes to? Cow manure seems too long of a procedure to buy and do 1 cake.

I could probably get that in my town petshop, perfect. Any baking/sterilization or preparation need to be done to coir? I'll be researching for a tut tomorrow, 12:09AM here, just curious before I sleep.
I still can't believe those shrooms came off that 2L, what was the coir/verm/colonized cake ratio?

Alright, thanks guys. Since I need to pasteurize coir I might just wait till summer and grab horse manure. Stay small for winter with a cake in a 2L.

I want to do a 2l coke bottle with 1 BRF cake too. I'm only worried about lighting. I could grow it in my closet, but no light would reach it unless I brought it out. The most I could leave my 2l bottle out in "sunlight" is from when I leave school and from when I get back, 6 hours. Is this significant enough light? It's usually raining where I live, so it's not intense sun light. it would just be through the window, which lights up my whole room.
6 hours of sunlight seems like alot to me though :/

lots of knowledgeable people claim you don't even need to pasteurize coir. i do just to be on the safe side though.
however 1 cake to 1 brick is going to be too low of a spawn ratio, so you will want to cut that brick into quarter chunks before you hydrate it.

Pasteurizing on the stove? Thought it would be more complicated, I'm going to buy some for sure then. I have 3 jars, 1 will birth alone, 1 with coir, 1 with unncolonized BRF cake. Each in a 2/3L setup like in vedas pic.
Also may not pasteurize in the future as a test for how sanitary a room is after Lysol, etc.
Btw I do live with my mom and her bf. They're letting me as long as I make money. My mom never even heard of shrooms in Sri Lanka. I might sneak the thermostat up when I birth if I really need to for birthing temps.

Quart mason jars make a small FC, but a larger container will generally perform better. RR

Do you recommend a dunk before birthing? Or would the high humidity in a small FC suffice? The cakes have been colonizing for over a 1 month now, since late October.
