The Mars Volta - Deloused
Heard that album for the first time when I was on a pretty hefty acid trip. It was awesome.

Elixier said: Some good bands here. I have to agree musically Thrice has evolved lately. Anyone ever listen to a band called Minus the Bear? Try the Menos el Oso album first if you haven't.
I love Minus The Bear. Highly Refined Pirates is my personal fave. I also got to see them at Bonnaroo last June. They did excellent.
People always pushing Menos el Oso and (to a lesser degree) Planet of Shit. These kids don't know anything about the band! Do you realize there is a full length and a good three other EPs by them? All much better (IMHO of course) than the newer stuff. Stop pushing the conceptualized MTB pleaaassseee.
The three EP's are good, and the AP sessions are decent too. I think all of their stuff is great though.

I've never tripped to it... but I've smoked many a bowl to this album. If there was such a genre as progressive hip-hop, this album would define it:
Deltron 3030 vocals: Del tha Funkee Homosapien producer: Dan the Automator tables: Kid Koala + a few guest spots here and there.
A hip-hop/rap album rarely creates a world and presents a story like this one does. I'd recommend it... under the influence or not....

all of TOOL's albums are perfect for tripping. i'm wondering why nobody mentions 10,000 Days? omg, i can't even explain what that album does when i'm on mushrooms. it's a guide to another dimension, but so much more. maybe you're too young, as 10,000 days is about 27 years, 4 and one half months. try it with a partner, when ur trippin, put on 10,000 Days and sit and gaze thru each others' eyes... like the lenses on the cd cover. the instructions are in the music! just listen. Lateralus is a 7 part spectral meditation tool, a tool for self-realization, self-improvement, etc., etc. it helped get me off drugs. it energizes and rejuvenates and aligns the chakras. and the videos... have you noticed that they are not the same each time u watch them? their art is a living entity that we are all consciously co-creating, and it is very much linked with the realm of psychedelics.
Smashing Pumpkins are great to trip to, as well, also alive and changing, though i don't use them that much anymore because it is very depressed.
